Government Degree College (GDC) Nowshera is located in Jammu and Kashir UT in Nowshera town about 4 km inwards from the Taayin Bridge on Jammu-Poonch national highway. The Govt. Degree College, Nowshera was established in 2008 under Prime Minister Reconstruction Programme and started functioning from the premises of the Govt. Middle School, Nowshera with a strength of 233 students. So far ten batches of students have passed out with their graduation degrees from this college.

The GDC Nowshera college offer 3 years of degree courses that carry a total 6 semester s in the streams of bachelor’s in arts and bachelor’s in sciences under the Choice Based Credit System. As the Government degree colleges are officially affiliated with the Jammu university so the final exam of 3 years Degree will be conducted by the University of Jammu.
